Arizona Girl's Look Back on 2015

Other big moments of the year include moving and living on my own for the first time, transferring to Northern Arizona University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA,  reconnecting with old friends, making new lifelong friends, and turning 22.

This year was filled with laughter, love, heartache, freedom, independence, life lessons, and growing up.  It's been one of the toughest years to date with a bigger work load (which I stress over but actually love) and being on my own (being the most independent and self reliant I have ever had to be); although it was difficult at times, 2015 has been one of my favorite years with major personal and professional accomplishments.  I want to thank my wonderful collaborators for believing in me and being so supportive of my work.  Also, I especially want to thank my readers and followers who make every post worthwhile.

I wish everyone a safe and exciting New Year's Eve and a joyful, fantastic New Year 2016!

Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: NYE Glam

Glam and glitz are essentials for this New Year's Eve.  And wow!  You can't beat a dress with iridescent beads, sparkling sequins, and scalloped hem for the ultimate party dress.

Adding a vintage accent with a velvet-collared choker with a metal medallion gives the look even more boho chic.

A gathered racer-back design with beaded embellishments helps a girl feel beautiful all over.

The faux fur jacket is another holiday essential that can be dressy or casual.  It is soft and warm and looks fabulous.

Of course, I always recommend styling with some fringe.  This soft, faux leather clutch has fringed sides and a removable, long shoulder strap for versatile styling.

Mid-sized heels make the perfect dance shoes.  Although I love tall high heels to lengthen the look of my legs, I can't dance or walk in them.  Real talk.

Remember the best accessory to wear this New Year's Eve is confidence.  Then, put on your favorite party dress, a pretty faux fur jacket, and your dancing shows for the best night ever.

I wish all of you a wonderful 2016!  Can't wait to hear about your New Year's resolutions!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Feeling Festive

Getting into the holiday mood is easy with the right dress and accessories.  If you're spending the holidays with family or friends, you might want to feel pretty but not overly dressy.  Here's how to style that perfect holiday look.  I started with this beautiful lace dress in burgundy.  Keeping the look sexy-yet-sweet, the sheer bodice is perfect for a scallop lace-trim bra and has a feminine soft bow closure with pointed collar.

To keep warm on a winter's day or night out, I recommend this feather band, panama hat.  It's dressy enough for a holiday dinner but keeps this look from being too school-girl sweet.

Next, a little fringe is a must for the holidays.  This wine-colored clutch also comes with a shoulder strap for a cross-body styling if you prefer.

These boots are great for special occasions in cold weather.  Combined with decorative, over-the-knee socks, you keep warm but yet dressy enough for a holiday gathering.

Last but not least, an amazing jacket finishes the styling.  This classic-cut, faux suede jacket has an open collar and soft, faux shearling lining.  It is one of the warmest jackets I own--so nice in this cold weather.  It was three degrees in Flagstaff, Arizona, earlier this morning.  BRRRRRRR!

I wish you the best holiday season ever.  Stay safe and warm and have an absolute blast!

My Style: Layering for Fall

Layering great fall fashions is the ideal way to stay warm and wear your favorite pieces.  To keep my legs warm, I'm wearing skin tone tights and over-the-knee socks with chunky-heeled, lace up booties.  For my focal point, I adore this khaki green dress with a pleated back and a high-low hem.  To stay warm, I added an awesome over-sized sweater, faux fur hooded jacket, soft fuzzy gloves, and a chevron-band panama hat.  To complete the outfit, these tarnished gold rings and cross choker add the perfect indie feel.   Where I live in Flagstaff, Arizona, it gets pretty cold with an elevation above 7,000 feet; I'm loving layers this season.

Hope you're staying warm!  Xoxo, Shelly
