My Style & Travel: Go Wild in Magic Sands

This beach, although small, is known by four names--La’aloa Beach Park, White Sands Beach, Magic Sands, and Disappearing Sands. According to the kama’aina on the Big Island of Hawaii, the sands on La’aloa Beach disappear during the high tide of the winter months and return during the summer. There was only a small amount of sand while we visited, as you can tell from the lava rocks. But one really cool thing about the environment there--sea turtles were all around trying to relax in the small pools of sand and water. It was absolutely magical with the turtles gently playing, the sun reflecting on the waves, the dark lava rocks glistening, and the palm trees moving in the light breeze.

Spring and summer 2016 trends will continue to include festival style and great swimsuits. This black, laced-up-the-back bathing suit helped me enjoy the afternoon at the beach. Along with a soft “Go Wild” graphic tee, ruffled tie-dye shorts, and high-heeled, cut-out booties, this outfit was ideal for touring Hawaii (I also brought rubber flip flops for the water). This outfit would also be flawless for attending a music festival, especially with these edgy booties. For the beach or a festival, don't forget your sunnies, a hat, and some pretty jewelry--perfect!

I’m loving Hawaii and hope you're enjoying spring! Aloha, Shelly
