My Style: The Road Less Traveled

February is a month for adventures, whether it's driving to new places or buying the latest fashions. One of the best trends right now is the boyfriend tee in the softest jersey knit with subtlety faded colors. Another great trend is the anorak jacket. This pretty, hooded jacket is warm and has a slimming fit. I'm still enjoying high-waisted, distressed denim jeans. This perfect pair of skinny jeans has the cutest cuff hem. The last trend I want to point out is the lace bralette; what girl can resist wearing a romantic peek-a-boo bralette during the month of February?

Now let's talk accessories. Because the days are finally starting to show some warmth, I knew I could break out these amazing chunky-heeled huarache sandals. Being in snow country, I admit this is the first time my toes have seen the sunshine in months, and I couldn't have been happier to select this comfortable and yet chic pair of sandals to celebrate.

And, of course, I had to select an amazing hat to bring out the charcoal colors of the boyfriend tee.

The fringed bag goes great with the sandals; you know me and my love of bohemian accents--I could wear fringe everyday (talk about a trend I hope never goes away!).

Hope you are having a great February filled with fun!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Valentine's Day

With Valentine's Day this month, I just had to style a little red dress. Because of the chilly conditions in my part of the country, I styled this lovely, floral shift dress with cozy, fleece-lined tights, a long-hemmed blazer, and an over-sized shawl scarf. In warmer weather, this little red number would look just as pretty with bare legs and strappy heels or silky hose with pumps. But I have to tell ya, these fleeced-lined tights are the best--comfy and yet snug. The jacket is sophisticated chic with a long silhouette and a quality cut. The fringed scarf is woven softness and large enough to keep you warm in the snow. I've wanted a double-buckle belt for some time, and this one really complemented the outfit. Of course two of my BFFs are hats and booties. These beautiful booties of vegan leather are the perfect cut and height. The panama hat is a soft, faux suede with a braided band, adding a little more boho mood to the styling. Lastly, the purse with a clasp design and large tassels brings together the camel colored booties with the outfit.

If you hadn't noticed, I decided to live on the wild side and have my virgin hair styled ombré. I must admit it is liberating to be creative with all aspects of style from head to toe. I'd love to hear what you are liking to do with your hair or fashion style this month.

I wish you all a romance-filled month of love and enjoyable getaways.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Snow Angel

A new year brings new beginnings and sometimes new opportunities to enjoy a date night!  If you're thinking about what to wear while going out on a winter's day (like Valentine's Day) or evening, then look no more.  You can still wear your favorite lace dress but add over-the-knee boots and socks along with an amazing jacket.  For this styling, I've selected such a cute, short babydoll dress with bell sleeves.  I added a tarnished silver necklace with rings of the same metal.  The beading on the panama hat matches the jewelry, and all three together bring a sophistication to the outfit.  This Aztec-print jacket is cozy warm with a faux fur trimmed hood and a high-low hem. I'm all about a girl having fun, mixing textures and accessories.  Speaking of fun, I had my hair ombréd. :)  I'm hoping you're loving February, having a blast, and being bold!  Xoxo, Shelly
